Meet Antoinette Foster

My name is Antoinette Foster, and I am the founder of Foster Linguistic Services.

I am an experienced teacher, language professional and Level 3 Community Interpreter, with more than 30 years of experience in education, interpreting and supporting people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

My Education & Qualifications

I graduated from Lebanese University with a Teaching Diploma in Psychology, having completed my studies in French. My educational background has given me a strong foundation in teaching, communication and understanding the needs of individual learners.

I am also a Level 3 qualified Community Interpreter, with experience working across a range of public and community services.

Throughout my career, I have continued to develop my knowledge and professional skills through additional training and professional development.

My Language & Teaching Experience

I work professionally in Arabic, French and English.

My experience includes teaching French and Arabic, as well as teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). I also have experience providing private tuition and supporting learners with their language development, including speaking, listening, reading and writing.

My teaching experience has included working with learners at different levels, from beginners through to GCSE and A-Level, as well as providing language practice and support online.

My academic background in Psychology also enables me to offer Psychology teaching and support.

My School & Supply Teaching Experience

Alongside my private tuition and language work, I have experience working as a supply teacher in schools, including working with secondary schools and providing French language teaching and cover.

My teaching experience includes French at KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE and A-Level, working with learners of different ages and abilities.

Through my school-based experience, I have developed a flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, supporting pupils in different classroom environments and responding to their individual learning needs.

Community Interpreting

Alongside teaching, I work as a Community Interpreter, supporting communication between people and public and private sector organisations.

I have experience in a range of social and community settings, helping people communicate clearly and access the services and support they need.

My Approach

I believe that learning and communication should be friendly, supportive and accessible.

I have a warm and approachable personality, a good sense of humour and enjoy working with people from different backgrounds. I take the time to understand each learner's individual needs, abilities and goals.

My aim is not simply to teach a language or provide an interpreting service, but to help people build confidence, communicate effectively and achieve their goals.
